Denial and Acceptance.

Guilt and Redemption.
After is a young adult novel about Devon Davenport, a bright, athletic girl with a promising future ahead of her, well, that was before a baby was found left to die in the trash of the apartment building she and her mother live in. Next thing she knew, she's in for something unimaginable and incomprehensible.
After is the first and only book by Amy Efaw that I have read (up to date). The book is actually nice. Subtle and simple. I must say it is worthwhile and interesting. After is written beautifully, it's believable despite the subject. Ms. Efaw did a good job in establishing a concrete and relatable story. The emotions were almost real, they're like jumping right at you. It honestly brought out both the sympathy and empathy in me. Devon's story and perception was cleverly told. Piece by piece, everything was made whole. Matters were realized and the right thing to do was done. Clarity was earned and lessons were learned.
